OP & TOM is not your run of the mill opticians and our store on High Bridge attracts some of the most creative and interesting individuals from the city and beyond.
As an independent practice we are fortunate to have the opportunity to get to know our customers; what they do, their hobbies, their passions, their style....
I would highly recommend Op & Tom! I purchased a pair of new glasses from them after my dog chewed my old ones. They were very helpful and it was a great experience overall. They have the coolest and stylist frames and great customer service. I go in whenever my glasses need tweaking and sometimes just to say hello.

They’re just mint. Dead mint. Dead helpful and just dead lovely and it feels great to be supporting local businesses whilst getting the joy of sight. Really reasonable, amazing choice of frames and lovely people that dealt with my indecisiveness with a big smile. You’re the good guys!
The most uniquely beautiful frames in Newcastle paired with incredible service - I can't recommend these guys enough. The follow-up service was great; Tim & Rebecca really made sure everything fit, felt good, and was to my liking. In fact, the selection was so good I just had to get two.
Exemplary customer service, great selection of interest frames & transparent pricing policy with no up-selling.

Amazing glasses that are so artsy and unusual! Have a pair myself and love them! The people who work there are so lovely, know what they are talking about and will make sure you leave happy! Definitely the best place for glasses I have ever visited!

Have now bought two pairs of glasses from here and had two eye tests. Always the same fantastic level of service, the shop is cosy and relaxed and the styles of glasses they have are far more interesting and on trend than anything in the larger opticians! Would recommend to anyone.

I've been to a few well known brand opticians in the past but after going to Op & Tom for my latest eye test & subsequent new pair of glasses I don't think I could ever go back to another opticians again! Right from entering the shop everyone there is really welcoming and puts you totally at ease, I was even offered a free tea/coffee whilst I was having my eyes tested too! I felt really relaxed and very much valued as a customer, they really wanted to get an idea of my personality & such when it came to choosing the right frames, and both team members were really patient with my indecisiveness too which I was thankful for. In the end I ended up with some frames that were more adventurous then I ever would have chosen by myself but I'm very grateful for this as not only do I feel good wearing them, but I've had a few compliments from pals about them too, which is a rare treat for me given my exceptionally lazy fashion sense...
What won me over even more was when i foolishly managed to bend one of the arms of my new glasses only a couple of weeks after buying them, & on the off chance they might be able to help I went back to the shop & the wonderful Rebecca was able to bend it back in to shape in a couple of minutes, no extra charges and it really highlighted the care they offer to their customers once again. So yes, cannot fault the quality, care, and service received from Op and Tom, totally worth the money and I feel like I can even look forward to my next eye test now I know exactly where to go!

There is always a fine balance when finding glasses; large chain operations where you know what to expect with efficient service but lacking unique looking products and then there are independent stores which can feel unwelcoming, judgemental and 'too cool for school'. OP & TOM break every rule! The customer service is exemplary, you are made to feel genuinely welcome, they are not intrusive or patronising and the quality of the product is exceptional and affordable. I had a very time-dependent need for new glasses and the team did everything possible to make it happen, even walking out to my office to measure my eyes so i got the right glasses. Thank you for breaking the mould and congratulations on a great team, product and experience. - Ian
